Microblading or Ombre/Powder Brows are a great idea if you are wanting to find more time in your day, and less time worrying about your makeup. Here at Skin Deep Cosmetics & Aesthetics, we have a variety of permanent makeup for eyebrow services to help you achieve the brows you’ve always dreamed of. If you’re located in or near Houston Texas, contact Skin Deep to find out if Microblading or Ombre/Powder Brows are the solutions you have been looking for!
Microblading
Microblading is a technique that requires a handheld manual tool with micro-blades, creating fine, hair-like strokes within the brow. It’s for people who want a natural look, as well as for those who have very fine hair. The strokes create fine ink lines that simulate the look of fine hair.
Combination Brow
A Combination brow is the best of both worlds. You’ll have beautiful hair-like strokes in the head of the brow, mimicking hair, and toward the tail, we’ll transition into a very soft gradient powder.
Ombre/Powder Brow
Ombre brows are another term for powder brows. Instead of a manual tool, this technique uses a machine to implant pigment softly with a nano needle in layers, producing a gradient of color. We focus on going darker to lighter, from the tail of the brow to the head, creating an ombre look.
This treatment is best for a client who prefers the look of makeup or powder on their brows. If you want a more natural brow, we can apply a very light powder look, or if you want a look that resembles makeup, we can do that as well. Normally, an ombre/powder brow will last longer than microblading.
Microblading: $450
Combination Brow: $500
Ombre/Powder Brow: $500
Touch-Ups to Brows: $150 – $500 (depending on time and color)
You may come in how you normally draw your brows so I can see what you are used to. This is especially important to clients who desire a specific brow shape. If you are open to suggestions, I am happy to help design a brow to personally suit you.
We will not be able to tattoo over any blemishes or moles in or around the area to be worked on.
Aftercare is crucial, it is very important to follow these instructions for the full 10-day healing period to ensure proper healing and color retention FOR THE BEST RESULTS. Keep in mind that in many cases, some unevenness or loss of color is to be expected. This is the purpose of the touch-up or what I like to call the perfecting visit. Results will vary for all individuals.
Approximate daily healing schedule
Day 1-2 Your brows are approximately 20 to 40% darker, bolder and more solid than your healed result. Under pigment, the skin is red and pigment has been deposited into layer of skin containing dead skin cells. This combination is what is giving the appearance of a darker color. There may be minimal swelling but because typically the eyebrow area does not retain much fluid, swelling will be limited. The top layers of skin will begin to shed on about day 5 to 7, and you will see a loss of color. This is normal. Do not scratch or pick. It is normal for the area to be slightly itchy while healing.
Day 3-4 Your eyebrows may begin to itch and the pigment may appear somewhat raised. Do not scratch or pick Please!
Day 5-7 The skin is now rapidly exfoliating and will shed evenly if left alone. The color under the exfoliating skin will start to appear very light and day by day it will start to appear darker. Please be patient and give the color a couple of weeks to become darker.
Day 30-40 Now is the time to critique your brows, the tattoo has now become part of the dermis, seen under the epidermis.

Long term care
Please be aware that the result of the procedure is dependent on the following:
Medications and health conditions, skin conditions- i.e. oily and poor skin, very dry/flaky skin, sun-damaged skin, loose or relaxed skin, natural skin undertones, alcohol intake, and smoking, general stress, immune system, poor diet and not following aftercare instructions, may affect your heeled results.
Antacids, thyroid and anxiety medications have been reported as interfering with permanent makeup either affecting retention or shifting the pigment to an undesirable tone. Remember, everything we eat and drink has their own chemical structure and the electron ends that are unattached are free, make it attached to other compounds inside the body forming a new molecule that may show a different color spectrum. With that information, an educated client may have better expectations and know that she or he may have needed more frequent adjustments than others. The better condition your skin is in, the better the final result will be, but your clients may need an additional one or two weeks healing for the final results to appear. The better you take care of your skin and protected from the UV rays, the better the outcome in the lifespan of the permanent cosmetic procedures.
